The Redeemer God

Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:24

The Redeemer God
When Christ meets a sinner and gives him peace, the only thing that He thinks of is His own blood, and anything added to that He would turn away from and repudiate. Ah! There is no name to which Jesus of Nazareth responds more heartily than the name of Savior—it has not become a common name to Him. He will not share it with another. He may have every glory, but above all is this name of Savior between Him and God. He is "the Savior God." Ah! There is something there that has a voice to one's soul: "redemption through His blood!" These few words speak to us of our Savior God, in whom we have redemption. He is the One who is to have all glory. When you get home, will your delight be in the glory of that Christ? Are you happy not only because you are saved, but because of seeing what He is—what a Savior you have! Being saved is as nothing compared to the brightness of the glory shining out of the Savior, Christ. Because He is what He is, we have redemption through His blood.

Will He ever lay aside His character of Redeemer? "The Lamb who is in the midst of the throne" points Him out as the One whose redemption-glory will still be seen, though we shall see it in a different light. Israel in Canaan enjoyed a different portion from Israel in the wilderness, but this was still their glory, that they were the people of a Redeemer-God. When you get into glory, every one of you will be pointed to as a spectacle showing forth the redemption-glory of the Redeemer-God.

G. V. Wigram
Jesus, God's Lamb, in the midst of the throne Thou art crowned;

Thou once on Calvary sufferedst, of man the disowned;

Worthy art Thou, glory encircles Thy brow,

Son of the Father enthroned.

E. Dönges

BE TRULY ROOTED

You can overcome the attacks of the devil if you can simply obey God's Word. Before taking on the devil, be sure of your salvation because the salvation of many today is questionable. Many are pretenders and have really never answered the altar call for salvation at any time. At the time they should be answering...More

YOUR FIRST LOVE

As a Christian, your heart ought to be aglow with genuine love for Christ, unless you are not genuinely saved as a result of having not truly repented from your sins even though you have confessed Jesus. At the new birth experience, the Holy Spirit regenerates our spirit and fills it with deep and pure love for...More

Imitation or Genuine?

"All the prophets were prophesying before them. Then Zedekiah said, 'This is what the LORD says' All the prophets were prophesying this as well." - 1 Kings 22:10-12 NASB

Zedekiah understood what it meant to be a prophet. He knew the vocabulary and how to deliver prophecies. In similar ways, others...More
