The Wonderful Gospel

As cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a far country.
Proverbs 25:25

The Wonderful Gospel
The gospel message comes from heaven, from God. It must neither be camouflaged in a politically correct language to obscure its contents, nor tempered to soothe the conscience of the lost. Its message will offend the self-righteous who consider themselves "good" and who take exception to being called sinners, and hell-deserving at that. It says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God," and that "the wages of sin is death," and "after this the judgment." It declares the love of God for lost, hell-deserving sinners.

It reveals that God has provided a Savior—His own Beloved Son. It tells of Jesus who came down here and lived a holy, spotless life, then suffered on a cross for sin, "the Just for the unjust." It speaks of His precious blood which was shed on the cross, without which there is no forgiveness of sins. It says that Christ rose from among the dead on the third day, and has ascended to heaven as the One who will judge the living and the dead. It tells us that He gives eternal life to as many as believe on Him. It therefore calls on men to repent toward God and to place faith in Jesus Christ. It tells that in the power of the Spirit we can live a new life in Christ, who will return to take His saved ones to dwell with Him in glory forever.

But, "what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?" (1 Pet. 4:17). Note Paul's answer to Peter's question: "When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power" (2 Th. 1:7-9). Solemn words!

ACCEPTED TIME 2

God is never too early and He is never too late. His timetable is set on purpose; the purpose is not only for your sake but also for His. In all things, His name shall be glorified. No doubt, He would have been glorified healing Lazarus of his sickness, but this can't compare to raising him from the dead after four...More

IMPEDIMENTS TO PRAYER

. He is looking for those who are ready and committed to walking in His footsteps. God is holy, and He has called us to holy living. We are to do as He commands because we are the light of the world. God in Heaven is glorified when our light shines in the midst of the darkness of this world. If you...More

Standing in the limelight

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern for all who are going to believe on him for everlasting life.
1 Timothy 1:15.16.
