The Attributes of God (2)

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:30-31

The Attributes of God (2)
In Isaiah 40 we see some of the characteristics of the God we are told to "wait" upon. The more we learn of who He is, the more we realize that we can wait on Him in every area of our life. He can be trusted and depended on because of who He is. Isaiah goes on to remind us of more of the attributes of our God!

He is transcendent (vv. 22-24), meaning He is far above everything and everyone else! He exceeds all limits.

He is eternal (vv. 26-28), meaning He always was and always will be and always has been in control.

He is holy (v. 25), meaning He is pure, separate from evil (see 6:1-6).

He is infinite (40:26), meaning He has no limits.

He is omnipresent (v. 27), meaning that He is everywhere.

He is immutable (v. 28), meaning that He is unchanging (see Mal. 3:6).

He is longsuffering (Isa. 40:28), meaning He is a patient God who never tires.

He is faithful (v. 29), meaning He is always trustworthy and dependable.

There are many more attributes of our God, but when we are occupied with who our God is, and what He is like as He is revealed on the pages of Scripture, it renews our strength, helps us see things from His perspective, and gives us spiritual energy to walk by faith and not faint along the way!

Tim Hadley, Sr.
Thou brightness of the glory which eye hath never seen!Thou never hadst beginning, eternal Thou hast been;Thou art the perfect Image of God Invisible,In light which none approacheth, in love which none can tell.

G. W. Frazer

Another thing that can divert your attention is opening your mouth prematurely to reveal your secret to sympathetic friends'. Never share a testimony until it is...More
