Christ Our Savior (7)—Awaiting Him

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Philippians 3:20-21

Christ Our Savior (7)—Awaiting Him
These verses point us to the future. The Lord Jesus is coming for us! Already today every believer can say that their citizenship is in heaven. We belong to heaven. The Lord Jesus told the disciples to rejoice because their names were written in heaven (Lk. 10:20).

However, we wait for that day when the Lord will come. He is coming from heaven as the Savior. We have seen already that He is the Savior of the world, available to all. But now He is coming as the Savior for His saints to complete the work of salvation for us to include our bodies. While our spirits and souls have already been touched by His power, our bodies are still "lowly" bodies or "bodies of humiliation" (jnd). Many of His saints struggle with physical, mental, or emotional weakness, sickness and broken bones. Our bodies still connect us to this fallen creation. When He comes, by His power He will raise the dead saints, and change those of us who are alive and remain, so that our bodies will be conformed to His body of glory. No more weakness, no more sickness, no more weariness: "As we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man" (1 Cor. 15:49).

Notice that this power He will use to change us is the same power He will use to subdue all things to Himself. The power that He will use to subdue the nations in that day, the Beast and the false prophet (Rev. 19:20), the future king of the north (Dan. 8:25; 11:45), and Gog, the prince of Rosh (Ezek. 38:21), will first be put forth in blessing for His saints!

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
