Hold fast!

Hold fast what you have till I come.
Revelation 2:25.

Hold fast!
God communicates his thoughts to us in the Bible. Through the apostle Paul in particular He has given us an insight into what concerns us Christians. In the epistle to the Romans, for example, we learn the full scope of our salvation. In the epistle to the Ephesians we become acquainted with our position as Christians and with the truth regarding Christ and His church.

If we read the Word of God, accept what it teaches in our hearts and fulfil it in practice, biblical truth becomes our personal possession. We take this valuable treasure with us on our pathway of faith, so that we can continually rejoice in it and act spiritually in agreement with it.

But there is an enemy who would rob us of the truth. The devil employs any possible means to attack the Word of God, raising doubts about it or intermingling human thinking with it. The Lord's appeal must therefore be taken seriously: "Hold fast what you have till I come."

This entails knowing and treasuring biblical truth in all its details. We should not neglect it either in doctrine or practice. At the end of the Christian era, when the decline in Christendom has reached a sad state, we need God's grace particularly. It is available, so that we humbly and gratefully keep what He has entrusted to us till the Lord comes.

Today's reading: Exodus 23:1-19 · Luke 9:10-17

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

HOW PROPHETIC ARE YOUR NAMES?

The name you bear is very important because it serves as your identity and your future may be connected to it. The name a person bears is sometimes indicative of the experiences he or she will encounter in life. Take for instance Moses: this name means "drawn out of water"

Bible in one year:
