God offers eternal salvation to all without exception...

The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
Titus 2:11.

God offers eternal salvation to all without exception. Nobody will be lost because he did not have the possibility to be saved. But not everyone is prepared to accept God's grace. Consequently people make God's counsel ineffective, as Jesus Christ once said of the Pharisees (cf. Luke 7:30).

"God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4), but He compels no-one.

When Christ was on earth, He bewailed the fact that they would not come to Him to have life (John5:40). And of the city of Jerusalem He said: "How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wing, but you were not willing" (Matthew 23:37).

It is no different today: many refuse to believe in God. They will not see that they are lost and need Christ as their Saviour. Nevertheless, whoever opens his heart to God and His Word acknowledges his guilt and lost state. What good news it is for him, that God wishes to save mankind, and that whoever wants God's salvation can obtain it.

This question applies to everyone: are you ready and willing to be saved? God's arms are outstretched to receive you. You need only come to Him, confessing that you are lost. If you confess you sins to Him and accept Jesus Christ's work of redemption by faith, you will be saved. Won't you do so today?

Today's reading: Exodus 23:20-33 · Luke 9:18-27

OFFENDED IN CHRIST?

The Christian race must be run with lots of patience or else it will be bungled midway. If you are inpatient with Gods timing, you will not only get into trouble but may not be able to finish the race. A good number of backsliders derailed from their heavenly track because of impatience. In Matthew 11:6 Jesus...More

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And...

Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he sat at the tent-door in the heat of the day. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, three men standing near him.
(Genesis 18:1)

The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More
