In search of truth

Lord, to whom should we go? You have the words of eternal life.
John 6:68.

In search of truth
A student questioned the sense of life. She examined the ancient philosophical and religious writings: Socrates, Aristotle, Plato and Thomas Aquinas. She found no answer there that satisfied her. The biography of the church father Augustine appealed to her but did not help her any further.

Finally she turned to the occult. However, when a medium informed her that she had lived a thousand years previously as the daughter of a Greek god, she turned away from it disappointed. No-one had the answer to her burning question, "Where can I find the truth?"

One day the student picked up a Bible and started reading it. ‘There she found the answer that she had sought for so long. She read about people with the same questions as she had and the answers that God gave them. Then she began to pray to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Later she said; "It became clear to me that I could find the truth in the Bible - that Jesus is Himself the truth, the life and the way to heaven (John 14:6). I learned that it was sufficient to believe in Christ to become truly free. Now I am very happy."

"Since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe" (1 Corinthians 1:21).

"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us full of grace and truth. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ" (John 1:14.17).

Today's reading: Leviticus 9:1-24 · Psalms 55:17-23
