October 5, 2015 Today's reading: 1 Corinthians 15:26-58 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 5:8; 8:32 "What shall we do?" This was the question that a rich man asked himself , God asks the same question in a parable. It expresses His untiring love towards His people. He had spoken often enough, but Israel had not listened. God wondered, as it were, "What shall I do?" "I will send my beloved Son." What people did to the beloved Son you know very well: they crucified Him. Yet God in His unbounded love declares: "I will give eternal life to whoever puts his faith in Him." "What shall we do?" You must now ask yourself this question - and give the answer by accepting the gift of God by faith. |
