Communications

Give ear and hear my voice. Listen and hear my speech.

O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD!

Blessed are those who hear the word of God.

Isaiah 28:23; Jeremiah 22:29; Luke 11:28.

Communications
The world today has a complex network of means of communication at its disposal: radio, television, internet, all relayed by undersea cables and satellites. Current events and news are transmitted instantly from one end of the planet to the other. In this way people and those who govern them spread their thoughts and opinions, put forward their philosophy of life and impose their choices, whether they are good or disastrous.

Our contemporaries express themselves regarding whatever they have heard or seen through these media and often in the same terms.

What about ourselves? Is our way of thinking based on this or that source of information? These sources are often contradictory, and sometimes untrue.

Let us rather be ready to listen to another voice - one that is worth hearing and credible, too: the Bible. It relays the divine voice, and the Holy Spirit dwelling in believers helps us to understand it. It shows us that God maintains control over the events that throw the world into confusion. His Word enables Christians to see current issues in relation to eternity. People imagine that they can do their own will and achieve their objectives, but God holds everything in His hand. We can be certain that He will have the final word both for His glory and for the joy and good of those who attend to His Word.

"Your word is truth" (John 17:17).

Today's reading: Joshua 6:1-14 · 1 Corinthians 4:1-10

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, ...

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, says to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which means Teacher. Jesus says to her, Touch Me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

We have not a high priest not able to sympathize with our infirmities, but tempted in all things in like manner, sin apart.
(Hebrews 4:15)

PROVOKING POSITIVE CHANGE

Change is one event that is constant in life. Change denotes movement from one state to another. There are two categories of change: positive and negative. Due to the fact that change can either be positive or negative, Africans would say: "Change is good for the poor but bad for the rich". Change in life is...More

Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent. For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read...More
