October 19, 2015 Today's reading: Numbers 5:12-31 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 The Cullinan is the biggest diamond ever found in the history of mankind. It was discovered in a mine in South Africa in 1905 and weighed 3,106 carat in its raw state (approx. 22 oz. or 620g). The king of England, to whom it was presented, had it sent to Amsterdam for cutting. The diamond cutter there marked where it had to be split with a diamond saw and with a chisel whose blade was made of especially hard steel split it to pieces: 105 in all. "What a heap of fragments!" one might think, but among them were the two largest cut diamonds in the world, which, with seven others from the stone, now belong to the British crown jewels. Another 96 diamonds were also cut from it. The decisive blow was the result of week-long deliberations, and the diamond cutter was reckoned to be one of the best in the world. His work enabled the hidden beauty in the stone to be brought to light in the best possible way. It is no different with our life. God sometimes allows a hard, painful blow, and we wonder what was its sense. But God loves us and wishes to make something precious out of us. God's children need have no fear. One day, they will shine as bright as gems in the King of king's crown. If we entrust ourselves to Him, we are in His hand; and God knows precisely how He has to form us. Because He loves us, all that comes upon us is for our good and our eternal joy. |

Open Heavens for Sunday, March 2, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye NEGATIVE LIVING Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More |
