Jesus’ love of His God

That the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, so I do.

Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

John 14:31; Psalm 91:14.

Jesus' love of His God
We tend to think more of Jesus' love of us rather than of His God. However, it is the very first commandment of the law, and the Lord Jesus alone has fulfilled it: "You shall love the LORD your God with all you heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind" (Luke 10:27). And this was eminently evident.

His love of God was the motive behind His behaviour and sayings in all things. It was proven not only under easy or pleasant circumstances, but in constant suffering in a world opposed to God. In face of hostility and persecution He always acted in grace and truth, always filled with the love of the One who had sent Him and whom He revealed.

Even when hateful men laid their hands on the holy Son of God and crucified Him, we see His love in perfection in that He accepted all without murmuring. Then, in total subjection to God's will, He offered Himself as the sacrifice for sin and underwent the judgment that we deserved.

God's answer was assured: "I will deliver him." How He earned the right to that deliverance! He rose again, triumphing over the power of sin, death and Satan. God highly exalted Him, setting Him on His throne. He is worthy of all our honour and worship!

Today's reading: 1 Chronicles 17:1-27 · Psalms 89:20-28

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
