In no other psalm is God’s...

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 89:1.

In no other psalm is God's faithfulness mentioned so often as in this one. Whenever God's faithfulness is praised in it His goodness, His wonders and His power are stressed. God's faithfulness can be seen in that He ever remains good towards His chosen ones. The grace in His counsel stands unchangeably firm. God will fulfil all His promises.

"For ever, o LORD, your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations" (Psalm 119:89.90). His word is trustworthy; whoever relies on it will never be disappointed. God rewards those who trust Him. Old Testament believers were characterised by their conviction that God remains true to His promises. By faith they knew that He would truthfully carry out His word. "Our fathers trusted in you; they trusted, and you delivered them. They cried to you and were delivered; they trusted in you, and were not ashamed (Psalm 22:4.5)

We, too, can gratefully sing hymns of praise that our Lord's faithfulness does not waver, thus making known His infinite grace and love. We trust the assurance of His counsel. His word endures for ever; for us that is great comfort and a secure and firm anchor for our souls.

"It is good to give thanks to the LORD; and to sing praises to your name, o Most High; to declare your loving kindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night.

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
