Today's reading: Numbers 12

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Psalm 32:1; 1 John 1:9

A 12-yr old boy had thrown a stone, which missed its target; it killed one of the geese running about in his parents' farmyard. Feeling unnoticed, he buried the creature secretly so as not to be punished. That evening, however, his sister told him, "It's your turn to do the washing up this evening. If you don't, I'll tell Mummy what you have done."
For fear, the boy resigned himself to the task. However, the next evening, when his sister tried to blackmail him again, he answered, "No, you will wash up tonight. I've owned up to Mummy, and she has forgiven me." He felt free and relieved. His conscience no longer accused him. No-one could put him under pressure now because of that incident.
If we have become guilty, conniving witnesses may exploit the situation, making us somehow dependent on them. Let us confess our guilt to God! He forgives willingly for Jesus' sake. If it is possible, we should also admit our wrong to those we have harmed.
Where can we get the strength to turn from evil and confess frankly before God? It comes from fully trusting Jesus Christ. He endured death on the cross to atone for our wrongdoings. If we turn to Him in faith, we shall be freed from our burden of guilt, from all that has a hold on us and troubles our conscience. If we then live our life with Him, He can keep us from falling back into our old faults.

FALSE PROPHETS AND THEIR PROPHECIES-FOOLISH PROPHETS

The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying: Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow after their own spirit, and have seen nothing!...More

EVERYONE NEEDS A MIRACLE

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of...More

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE DON'T!

A negative change is generally abhorred by men. Everyone craves progress. We always desire to keep ascending the ladder of success. No one wants to make a u-turn in the journey of greatness. The greatest journey whose end has the greatest significance is the journey to Heaven. This journey is only made in Jesus...More
