What God has done for me

Sing to the LORD, for he has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.

Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us that we should be called children of God.

Isaiah 12:5; 1 John 3:1.

What God has done for me
The Bible tells me how God has provided for me personally:

  • He knew me before I was conceived (Jeremiah 1:5) and created me in His image (Genesis 1:27).

  • He wished to give me a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11), and loved me so much that He gave His only begotten Son for me to believe in Him, so that I should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

  • He calls me His child (1 John 3:1), as the Father who comforts me (2 Corinthians 1:3.4), and as the Shepherd who keeps me close to Him and cares for me (Isaiah 40:11).

  • He knows all about me, from what seems insignificant to what is dearest to my heart. He knows my thoughts before I express them (Psalm 139:1-4).

  • He offers me more than my earthly father could ever give me (Matthew 7:11) and supplies all my needs (Matthew 6:31-33).

  • He expects me to confide my requests and all that is on my heart in Him (Philippians 4:6). If I ask for something according to His will, He hears me and grants my prayers (1 John 5:14.15).
He has kept a place for me in His heavenly home, to which Jesus Himself will bring me (John 14:2). Should I suffer death beforehand, He will be with me at that difficult time (Psalm 23:4) and resurrect me in a body of glory to spend eternity with the Lord together with all the believers where there will be no more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 21:4).

YOU CAN BE HIS WITNESS

As a bona fide member of the Kingdom of God, you must be a proof of His power to save. Matthew 1:21 says Jesus shall save His people from sin.

BEFORE YOU GET ANGRY

Yesterday we learnt it is not right for us to get angry with God or to take offence against Him, even if we experience the deferment of our hopes. The example of John the Baptist who earlier acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but later doubted Him because of his painful experience of incarceration is a warning...More

...when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem...
Luke 2:45

We might as well face it, strife has even infiltrated our church life. It is true enough that the Church is now the Church militant. But, as such, its warfare ought to be that of dedication to revealed truth and divine...More
