November 3, 2015 Today's reading: Numbers 14:10 Where, o death is your sting? Where, o death is your victory? 1 Corinthians 15:55. (J.N.D) Felicity had been educated according to Marxist and atheistic principles. For her Christian fellow students, she had only a sympathetic smile. One day a malignant tumour was diagnosed in her body. It was incurable. When I visited Felicity again shortly before her death, she was unable to speak as her speech centre was already affected. I prayed for wisdom for the right words for her from the Lord Jesus. "Felicity," I began, "What can Marx and Lenin do for you now?" She looked at tme questioningly. "I should like to speak to you again about Jesus. He died for you. He loves you, even if you deny His existence. Marx and Lenin can't help you now, but Christ, the Lord of life and death is stretching out His hands to you, wanting to grant you eternal life. Confess to Him that you have rejected Him and His Word until now, and receive Him as your Saviour." Felicity took my hand and looked at me with tearful eyes. "May I pray for you?" I asked. She nodded. Then I prayed, also with tears in my eyes. When I said "Amen", she looked at me, nodded and gripped my hand. "Felicity, the Lord Jesus will be with you. He loves you. Trust Him fully." From her weak, but definite grip on my hand and the expression on her face, I deduced that she had accepted the message and trusted it in her heart. Her eyes brightened, although she could not utter a single word. At a lecture three days later, it was announced that Felicity had died. In a minute's silence, we remembered her with sadness. But I also sensed gratitude, knowing that Felicity was now joyfully with Christ in glory. |

Open Heavens for Sunday, March 2, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye NEGATIVE LIVING Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More |
