The Son of God

And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.
John1:34

The Son of God
In all the writings of the apostle John, the Lord Jesus is presented to us as the Son of God.

In his Gospel, John speaks of the Son of God in whom we believe. He became man to bring us divine grace. All His words and works testified to Him as the One who came to us from God the Father. At our conversion, we received Him into our lives and believed in His name. As a result, He gave us the right to be children of God (John 1:12).

In the letters of the apostle John, we come to know the Son of God as the One we love. This is only possible because God “loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10). We experienced God’s love for us when He forgave our sins and gave us eternal life because of the redemptive work of His Son. Now we are able to love the Son of God. “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

In Revelation, where the Lord Jesus shows His servants what must soon take place, He introduces Himself as the Coming One. He is the Son of God in whom we hope. We await Him as the shining Morning Star who will rapture us to heaven before the announced time of judgment. The Son of God Himself promises us at the beginning and end of this Bible book, “I am coming quickly” (Revelation 3:11; 22:20).

Today’s reading: Deuteronomy 20:10-20 · Matthew 28:1-10

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1-2)
