The lame man leaps (4)

And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked.
Acts 3:7–8

The lame man leaps (4)
Who makes the sick person well? Jesus Christ, who gave Peter the authority. How does the sick man get well? By Peter speaking a word from God and taking him by the hand and lifting him up. He leaps up (although he had never leapt before in his life), is able to stand and he walks around. Whoever today puts his trust in Jesus, the crucified and risen Lord, will also experience that He intervenes in salvation. How does this happen? Through the Word of God, when we read the Bible or hear a sermon about it. The “word of life” can bring about a fundamental change in us. The apostle Peter later writes: “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever” (1 Peter 1:23).

A person saved by Jesus

will “leap”, will boldly testify to his faith because he has experienced the powerful action of God.
will “stand”. A Christian stands in the grace of God: that is, God’s love surrounds him and upholds him. “For by faith you stand”, says another Bible verse (2 Corinthians 1:24). This means that the believer leans on the assistance of his heavenly Father, day in and day out, receiving strength and courage for all challenges.
will “walk”, living a life that is in accordance with God’s thoughts.
(to be continued tomorrow)

Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 17:17-30 · Psalms 103:13-22

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE

Read:
.
The essence of the anointing of God in your life is not for show but for service. Service is a fundamental aspect of leadership. The moment you remove service from your life, there is no room for good leadership. People should see the good example you are showing and praise God for your life....More

Apollo 15

You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain. You are the same, and your years will not fail.
