November 28, 2015 Today's reading: Numbers 31:1-24 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Psalm 135:6, Isaiah 46:9-10 God has a plan If history is truly under God's control why doesn't He prevent the increase in evil and make His justice prevail instead of enduring the world in its present moral state? To this legitimate question the Bible has an answer. It tells us that man, created in freedom, is responsible for his deeds. God exerts no force. Man places little value on the promises and thoughts God has revealed. Consequently, he will one day have to give account of himself. Meanwhile God waits patiently for man to become aware of the tragic consequences of wandering far from Him and to return to Him. The Bible also tells us that history makes sense: it is following God's plan. One day He will put an end to man's disastrous administration of the earth. He will send His Son, Jesus Christ, to establish His kingdom for the good of the whole human race. But He will judge all who have rejected Him and refused to receive the One sent by God. The Bible describes the event to take place, particularly those that mark the end of man's history on earth. Jesus Himself stated, "See I have told you all things beforehand(Mark 13:23). Being thus informed, are we not responsible to put our life in order according to God's Word? This means first of all, recognising that Jesus is the only One who can reconcile us with God. His wish is to grant us peace already on earth and the sure and joyful hope of being in His presence soon. |

(Genesis 18:1) The spiritual elevation of Abraham in Genesis 18 and 19 is something very peculiar. He seems...More |

Open Heavens for Friday, November 20, 2015 by Pastor E.A Adeboye HOW PROPHETIC ARE YOUR NAMES? The name you bear is very important because it serves as your identity and your future may be connected to it. The name a person bears is sometimes indicative of the experiences he or she will encounter in life. Take for instance Moses: this name means "drawn out of water" Bible in one year: Job...More |
