A young man was getting too cramped in his...

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15

A young man was getting too cramped in his Christian parental home. He knew that his parents prayed for him regularly, and that bothered him even more. So, he finally packed his suitcase and moved to another city. He found a job as a driver at a cab company.

One day he had a serious traffic accident. An ambulance took him to the hospital. He was severely injured. The doctor on call was still trying to take care of him when he opened his eyes. “Jesus Christ saved me!” he said loud and clear, before he could be aware of where he was and how he was.

Later, he recounted what he had felt as his car skidded and hurtled toward the ditch.

“I saw death before my eyes, and I became abruptly aware of my many sins. I realised how God was judging the sin in my life, and I trembled before death and eternal damnation. Then this word flashed through me: ‘Sinners, of whom I am chief!’ What was that word exactly? I thought I heard my father’s voice: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief’ Me, chief!

Even before my senses faded, I had grasped it: I could cling to the fact that He had forgiven all my sins! But what would have become of me if death had come immediately and I had not had these moments?”

Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 31:1-13 · Colossians 2:16-23

Two discouraged disciples were reasoning among themselves...

Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory? And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, He interpreted them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE I

When we are told to put on the whole armour of God, one thing becomes clear instantly. This is the fact that there is a God. We cannot be talking of the armour of God if there is no God. Anyone who thinks that there is no God is a fool (Psalm 14:1). You have to pray that God would reveal Himself to you. The...More
