Luck and love

But you are those who forsake the Lord, who forget My holy mountain, who prepare a table for Gad, and who furnish a drink offering for Meni.
Isaiah 65:11

Luck and love
“You were lucky!” That’s probably what someone said to you when you got out of a near-accident in one piece or passed an exam by a narrow margin against all expectations.

What do we actually mean when we say, “You were lucky?” Do we perhaps think that fate played a part? 2,700 years ago, the prophet Isaiah told the Israelites, in effect, “You worship Gad!” That is the planet Jupiter, which was considered a god of luck at that time. Apparently, they worshipped this foreign god because they wanted good luck.

The Israelites also sacrificed to Meni. This is Venus, who was worshipped as the goddess of fate. The Romans called her the goddess of love. Didn’t people express their belief in fate and their longing for love with this worship of the gods?

Well, we are enlightened people. Nevertheless, many people today live according to the principle that man must have happiness and that everyone can indulge in love as it comes their way. Life then proceeds accordingly, with all its sad consequences.

Instead of blindly chasing happiness, it is better to seek the living God and ask for His thoughts. He loved us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to die so that we might have eternal life in communion with God through faith in Him. That is much more than a little happiness and love.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is one thing to receive the anointing and another to keep growing on it. There are people who had the anointing, but today, everything has virtually ebbed out. It is possible to connect with the Holy Spirit and to continue to flow in the power of the anointing even at increasing levels. If this is your desire,...More

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE

Read:
.
The essence of the anointing of God in your life is not for show but for service. Service is a fundamental aspect of leadership. The moment you remove service from your life, there is no room for good leadership. People should see the good example you are showing and praise God for your life....More

Apollo 15

You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain. You are the same, and your years will not fail.
