A false perception

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Luke 19:10

A false perception
At a busy exhibition, Jonas’ parents lost sight of their boy in the crowd. They immediately went in search of him but he was nowhere to be found. So they rushed to the exhibition management. Immediately, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker: “A little boy named Jonas has gone missing and is being sought by his parents. Jonas, please come to the exit as soon as possible. Your mother is waiting for you there.”

The father could not wait idly. He quickly went back into the hall where they had last had Jonas by their side. Carefully he searched everywhere again. Then he found his son standing in front of a model railway, excitedly watching the trains as they made their circuits. When his father asked him, “Why didn’t you come to the exit when you were told to?”, the son replied, “I thought they were looking for another Jonas. I wasn’t lost at all!”

Many people are like this little boy. God is looking for them. But they think His call is not for them. They hear that Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost. But they do not want to accept that they belong to the lost.

The truth, however, is quite different: all people are lost because of their sins and therefore need the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.

Today’s reading: 1 Kings 20:13-30 · John 13:16-30

THE GREAT DELIVERER

God is great but He humbles Himself to the level of His children to deliver them. The one who will deliver you must be stronger than the enemy holding you captive. The reason He is able to deliver is because He is stronger than all your enemies put together. This is why in

NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN

Laziness is not a Christian virtue in any way. Our Lord Jesus Christ made this clear by His lifestyle of hard work while here on earth. A lifestyle of laziness is outrightly rejected in Scriptures typified by today's Bible reading. It is amazing that some people are still expecting God to rain manna on earth! It does...More
