God’s tapestry
The hand of the God who made all earth and heaven
Is artfully weaving a pattern with wisdom.
But we just see threads that are random and tumbled
To look up from earth, there’s no pattern. It’s jumbled!
They’re all in confusion, all criss-crossed and jumbled,
They don’t look like anything. Handiwork’s fumbled!
But changing the viewpoint from earth up to heaven –
The masterful outcome is skilfully woven.
With doubting and weeping we now read the story
Which then will look different in heavenly glory.
For there, in the light, God will show us completely
The picture He’s woven, so wise and discreetly.
So now if you’re feeling all stretched and mistreated,
The day’s coming soon when His work is completed:
You’ll look at life’s tapestry, singing and praising –
“O Father, Your workmanship’s truly amazing.”
