A wonderful invitation! Everyone can...

The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
John 6:37

A wonderful invitation! Everyone can and may come ? no one is turned away. Jesus Christ invites people to Himself, invites all to come to Him. And whoever comes can be sure that he will be welcomed and accepted. The CEO comes along with the intern, the teacher with the student, the pensioner alongside the young person, and the respectable citizen beside the prisoner. They come from all walks of life and cultures, and from all age groups. A diverse society! All have one direction, one goal: toward Jesus Christ.

There are no entry requirements, no entrance exams, no number limits, no assessment centres, no internships as test runs, and no probationary periods. Isn’t that wonderful?

“Who” means everyone – and “who comes” means right now, in the here and now, in life, not later and certainly not in the hereafter. Besides, it means “to Me”. So it isn’t just any destination, or a self-chosen religion. “To Me” implies through Jesus Christ, for He is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). But today’s Bible verse not only invites – it also offers absolute security and reliability. I can be sure that when I come to Jesus, I will never be “pushed out the door”: “I will by no means cast him out” applies to coming and staying. My salvation, once it happens, is absolutely certain. How wonderful!

He who is “inside” and knows himself to be so secure cannot remain silent. He will invite those who are still “outside” to come to Jesus. They too should experience how beautiful it is to be accepted and loved.

Come to the Saviour, make no delay;
Here in His word He’s shown us the way;
Here in our midst He’s standing today,
Tenderly saying, “Come!” George Fr. Root (1820–1895)

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 10:1-22 · Psalms 119:1-16

Behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus: for He shall save His people from their...More

TOTAL COMPLIANCE REQUIRED

When we teach about tithes and first fruits, some people think that it is the pastor's way of making money but they are making a great mistake. When you put God first, He will make sure that your blessings are irreversible. But if you decide to give Him second place in your life, you may not be happy to see what...More

FACING OUR PAST

READ:
.
Like Paul,we don't need to parade our failures or to pretend they didn't happen. Instead, we can thank the Lord that through His grace and power, our past is forgiven, our presence is changed, and our future is bright with hope for all he has prepared for us. - David...More
