God is love

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
1 John 4:9

God is love
The devil tries to make people believe that God doesn’t love them. We see this right from the beginning in the Garden of Eden when he sowed doubts about God’s love in Eve’s heart. He persuaded her that the Creator would withhold something from people if He didn’t allow them to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

This lie of the devil was exposed about 2,000 years ago. At that time, God sent His only Son to earth as a saviour for lost people. The Son of God became man in order to die on the cross for those who had rebelled and sinned against their Creator. Instead of punishing His enemies, God gave His beloved Son to die for them. He did it because He loves people and doesn’t want them to be eternally lost.

That is why God, in His love, offers His grace to all people. He invites them to believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, who laid down His life to set them free from their guilt. Because He loves people, He shows them through the gospel how they can turn to Him and get right with Him.

How do we respond to the love of God that is personally demonstrated to us today? Do we accept His offer of salvation, to receive eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus and to become children of God? If we do so, He assures us that nothing and no one can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38–39).

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 34:1-31 · Psalms 135:13-21

CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU?

Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More

I do hope you are realizing that after all there is no point envying the prosperous wicked. Do not kill yourself for nothing. You have your life to live. Do not be a puppet dancing the...More

Hudson Taylor...

John 19:30

The parents of Hudson Taylor (1832-1905), the well-known missionary in China, were believers. From their example, he noticed early in life how helpful prayer and the Bible are.
His parents' exemplary life impressed him, and he endeavoured to be as good a Christian as they were....More
