Seize the opportunity!

And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!
Matthew 20:30

Seize the opportunity!
What would have happened if the two blind men had not cried out for mercy when Jesus passed them by? How would their lives have continued if they had allowed themselves to be silenced by the crowd? These blind men didn’t know whether Jesus Christ would pass by them again. For them it was now or never! That is why they persisted and cried out for mercy until the Saviour called them to Himself and made them well.

Thus there are moments in the life of every individual when he or she is confronted with the Lord Jesus. Each one is given the opportunity to accept Him as personal Saviour. Such opportunities, which God brings about, are not to be missed. No one knows if they will return.

If you read this text today, you are coming into contact with Jesus Christ. He wants to bring you to God and redeem you for heaven. That is why He knocks at the door of your heart: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

The Bible admonishes, “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 4:7). You only have today at your disposal. What happens tomorrow is not in your hands. How tragic if you were to reject the offer of eternal salvation now and thus let the opportunity pass you by without taking advantage of it!

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 39:1-29 · Psalms 139:13-24

What shall the baptized for the dead do if those that are baptized rise not at all? Why also are they baptized for them?
(1 Corinthians 15:29)

Who are "the dead," and who are those "baptized for the dead"? The next verse gives an important hint: "Why do we also endanger ourselves every...More

Be clear minded and self-controlled' 1 Peter 4:7 NIV
Going from childhood to adulthood is a transition that requires a lot of wisdom and love. Your teen will feel and behave child-like sometimes, and adult-like other times. Your job is to realize that whatever their status, they will become a man (woman)...More
