But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman.
Galatians 4:4

God gave us the Redeemer
About 1,500 years after the creation of man and after his fall into sin, the Bible records that God judges him: “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5).

Another 1,500 years later, David confirms this divine judgment on man, “The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, no, not one” (Psalm 14:2–3). What happened almost 1,000 years later is still a miracle today: God responded to all the wickedness and enmity of man with grace. He sent His Son to earth as Saviour.

Mary gave birth to a son in Bethlehem and named Him Jesus. This name means: the Lord is salvation. That same night an angel told the shepherds in the field, “There is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).

In order to redeem guilty people from divine punishment, Jesus Christ had to suffer and die on the cross. Since then, God’s invitation is,
