The Christian’s blessing

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
Ephesians 1:3

The Christian’s blessing
All who believe in the Lord Jesus are richly blessed. Today’s Bible verse makes this clear to us:

1. The source of blessing is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In eternity, He made a plan to have people close to Him who are suited to Him and are in a happy relationship with Him. Thus, the Christian blessing springs from the heart of God. This gives it a high value.
2. This blessing has a spiritual character. It is not about material wealth or earthly joy but something enjoyed in the heart. For example, the fact that we are beloved children of the Father cannot be seen or touched, yet it is a blessing in which we can truly rejoice.
3. The sphere of blessing is the heavenly places. Thus, our blessings belong to heaven. We enjoy them now as those who have already been transferred positionally to the heavenly places. We will have the full enjoyment of them when we are glorified in heaven.
4. The security of Christian blessing is in Christ. In Him we have been made rich. The Lord Jesus so perfectly glorified His God and Father through the work of the cross that an immeasurable blessing now flows to us. Every spiritual benefit that we possess as believing Christians is assured to us in Christ.

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 46:1-24 · Psalms 147:11-20

FALSE PROPHETS AND THEIR PROPHECIES-FOOLISH PROPHETS

The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying: Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say unto them that prophesy out of their own heart, Hear ye the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow after their own spirit, and have seen nothing!...More

EVERYONE NEEDS A MIRACLE

Some years ago, I was invited to be the guest speaker at a garden party in an exclusive, highbrow residential area. Because I arrived at the venue quite early, I was made to sit for a while in the house of my host. The house was an exquisite parade of wealth and splendour. I had never seen such brazen display of...More

FOR CHRIST'S SAKE DON'T!

A negative change is generally abhorred by men. Everyone craves progress. We always desire to keep ascending the ladder of success. No one wants to make a u-turn in the journey of greatness. The greatest journey whose end has the greatest significance is the journey to Heaven. This journey is only made in Jesus...More
