God does not want people to be lost

He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
Proverbs 29:1

God does not want people to be lost
Several times a man stood on the brink of death. Once he was on a mountain tour in the Alps when a thin layer of snow collapsed beneath him and he almost drowned in a glacial lake. Another time, his sailboat capsized in a storm. He owed the saving of his life to the water police. And then, when he was only in his mid-forties, he fell ill with leukaemia. Thanks to excellent medical treatment, he was cured of the disease. After that, God gave him another 15 years until he was killed by a falling tree in a violent storm while driving his car.

Why am I telling you all this? Because this man, who by the way was nice and friendly to everyone, had believing neighbours. One of them spoke to him several times about personal faith in Jesus Christ. But the man did not see the need for a Saviour, even though he knew the Bible well.

God wanted to save this man. He had warned him several times in an obvious way. But on that stormy day, his time on earth had come to an end. He was called away into eternity from one minute to the next – to answer to his Creator-God!

Perhaps God has already warned you personally. How have you reacted to it? Have you taken the Saviour’s hand and allowed yourself to be saved?

Today’s reading: Hosea 2:14-3:5 · James 1:19-27

BROKENNESS

In your relationship with God, one place you need to get to is the place of brokenness. To be broken is to have some form of injury that makes the object less than a whole. In spiritual parlance, it is to break or subdue the flesh in order to be more profitable to the kingdom of God. Why do you need to be broken?...More

DELIVERANCE: DIVINE ASSURANCE

When God speaks, that settles it. He reigns forever. When He gives a decree, it is forever. When He says "surely", it means surely. When He says surely, it will be well with me, nobody can change it. He says surely, by His stripes I am healed, and nobody can change this. He says surely, everything I do shall...More
