Righteous before God

But how can a man be righteous before God?
Job 9:2

Righteous before God
Many individuals are convinced that they belong to “the good people” of this world. When they compare themselves with others, they come off much better – or so they think.

But the important question that each of us has to answer puts the matter in a different light: What does God think of me? Of course, I can persuade myself that there is no God, or that I will never need to have anything to do with Him. But am I deeply convinced of this in my heart? What if I actually have to meet God? Will I be able to stand before Him?

The Bible tells me that God is holy and must punish wrongs committed (Romans 1:18). But from the Bible I also learn about God’s love. He sent His Son to earth as Saviour so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

Jesus Christ died on the cross so that the problem of my guilt before God could be solved. He laid down His life as a sacrifice to God for my sins. I can personally claim this and come to God with a confession of my sins. Then He forgives me and declares me free from my guilt.

As a result, I am righteous before God. What the Apostle Paul declares in Romans 5:1 applies to me: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Today’s reading: Nehemiah 2:1-8 · Proverbs 10:22-32

FASTING IS NECESSARY

To relate with the Holy Spirit, you must be holy. You must also exercise a living faith, pray and fast. Some people will tell you that because had finished the work of salvation, there is no need to fast. To them, fasting is completely needless and is some form of self-inflicted punishment. But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
