A good servant

If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.
1 Timothy 4:6

A good servant
The Lord wants to give every believer a task in His work to fulfil for the glory of God and the blessing of others. Perhaps He is calling us to work for Him today; perhaps we have been working for Him for some time. Today let’s ask ourselves what characterises a good servant of the Lord.

Some time ago, a Christian asked himself the question: What is the most important organ of a servant? Is it the hands that do the work assigned to them? No! Is it the feet that go where the Master wants them to go? No! It’s the ears! The most important thing is that we first listen attentively to the voice of the Lord. We can only do service for Him in His way if we know exactly what He wants from us.

Another necessary quality of a good servant is obedience. When we want to do something for the Lord, it is not our own ideas that are required. Rather, it is a matter of doing His will. Although He only has volunteers, as soon as we make ourselves available to Him He tells us what to do. Don’t we then want to obey Him from our hearts?

After all, the Lord expects us to be faithful servants and to reliably carry out the work He has assigned to us. In the place where He has set us, we must do with perseverance what He has instructed us to do. Let us not forget: He will reward our faithfulness one day!

Today’s reading: Nehemiah 2:9-20 · Proverbs 11:1-9

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
