December 22, 2015 Today's reading: Luke 1:1-20 And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee. Acts 24:24-25 There are plenty of people who know full well that they need salvation from their sins, but they postpone turning to God time and again. A believer once visited a young farmer, who had long since been aware that he needed to be converted. He met him in his stables of all places, where he was resting on a bale of straw. The visitor greeted him and started telling him what he had on his heart. When the young man noticed what direction the conversation was taking, he cried out, "No! A stable is not the place to discuss matters of faith! Please stop!"- "No!" was the reply. "Don't you know that Jesus Christ was laid in a manger after His birth? So you can be born again in a stable!" The young man was well aware that he was guilty before God. Now he could no longer evade the question. So he accepted the Christian's suggestion, knelt down with him and confessed his sins before God and received Jesus Christ in his life as His Saviour and Lord. Now consider the contrary situation. When the Roman governor Felix was told about Christ and the coming judgment, he answered, "Go away for now;when I have a convenient time I will call for you." It is to be feared that Felix lost the "convenient" opportunity that God gave him. |

Open Heavens for Saturday, December 14, 2013 by Pastor E.A Adeboye CAN SATAN RIGHTLY ACCUSE YOU? Besides discouragement, another weapon Satan uses often against believers is their weaknesses. He simply studies an individual for a period of time and not long after, he identifies the fellow's weakness and capitalizes on it. Take for instance Peter. Satan discovered that Peter is a cowardly person-lacking in...More |
Open Heavens for Friday, January 10, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye SPIRITUAL WARFARE I When we are told to put on the whole armour of God, one thing becomes clear instantly. This is the fact that there is a God. We cannot be talking of the armour of God if there is no God. Anyone who thinks that there is no God is a fool (Psalm 14:1). You have to pray that God would reveal Himself to you. The...More |

He came as a mighty obstacle but turned into a mighty door of opportunity when God stepped in. Every giant who stands in your way this season shall become a door to your breakthrough in Jesus' Name.
