Today's reading: Luke 1:59-80

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son.
Hebrews 1:1-2

God has spoken! And what He said is good news for us. He has spoken "by His Son", i.e. in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ. God came to this earth as a Man when the Lord Jesus Christ was born. "There is born to you this day...a Saviour who is Christ the Lord"(Luke 2:11). By means of this two thousand-year-old message, which unfortunately is often reduced to a motive for pleasure or advertising, God still speaks to people personally.
The birth of Jesus can have a decisive effect on your life today, too. God is calling for people to open their hearts to Him and thus to come to this personal assurance of the faith: "Today my Saviour was born for me."
Those who receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour are freed from all guilt. Their life, into which light has entered has found fulfilment. The joy that this awareness brings about is permanent. It is not just a passing mood of the so-called Christmas spirit. It brings everlasting joy. This gift from God is worth more than anything that people can give, even at this time of the year.
Should you feel especially lonely at the present time, then remember the promise that the Son of God left with His disciples "Lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age"(Matthew 28:20). This assurance of the Lord's applies even today to all who believe in Him.

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE 1

Under normal circumstances, no human being desires to be a nonentity. The various forces in the world however, are responsible for many people spending their entire life amounting to nothing and dwelling in the valley of not-well-to-do persons. The Almighty God Himself in making man did not intend for him to be a...More

A spiritual treasure had been entrusted to the apostle Paul that he wished to share with the Christians in Rome. It did not come from his own abilities or knowledge. What he wished to impart to them he had himself received...More
