December 29, 2015 Today's reading: Luke 3:10-38 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 1 Samuel 9:27;1 Peter 1:17. At the end of the financial year every commercial or industrial company has to draw up a statements of accounts, so as to show the balance of the past year's activity. Regular positive result are signs that the direction and development of the company are in good hands. Should the results deteriorate, however, revealing dwindling profits or even debts, then the cause has to be found urgently and remedied. Shouldn't there be times in our existence as human beings before God when we also scrutinise our situation and become clear as to our standing before Him? Christians need to ask themselves whether their fellowship with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ, has been a reality. Have we experienced and enjoyed the Lord's love more? Or were we distracted by activities and worried, so that in the course of time the distance between our souls and Him increased? If some of our readers do not yet know Christ as their personal Saviour, have they come a step closer to Him? He has surely called and pleaded this year, as in past years. Have you thought what eventually awaits you, if you have not drawn up your account with Him? One day Jesus Himself will announce the result of your balance sheet without any previous warning. Today He still offers everyone salvation: Accept it without hesitating! |

He became a victim of comfort. Today, many people are also becoming prayerless and shifting their or trust from God to uncertain riches. They are now tending towards the belief that money can fix everything. If you are in such...More |
Open Heavens for Tuesday, January 21, 2014 by Pastor E.A Adeboye A LESSON FROM GOLIATH At the first sight of David, Goliath despised him. He was amazed that the children of Israel could find no other man to fight him than a young boy. As if that was not enough, Goliath did not see any conventional weapon of war on David. So he asked, "Am I a dog?" The first lesson we have to learn from this story as...More |

The Word for today for Tuesday, August 12, 2020 by Bob and Debby Gass Forgive And Move On (2) Anyone who starts ploughing and keeps looking back isn't worth a thing to God's Kingdom!' Luke 9:62 CEV If you're wise, you'll do four things: (1) Focus on the road ahead. By looking in the rear-view mirror instead of what's up ahead, you'll end up in a ditch. Focus on the fact you've...More |
