Obstacles

Then Agrippa said to Paul, You almost persuade me to become a Christian.
Acts 26:28

Obstacles
There are people who are not opposed to the gospel of grace. They may even enjoy hearing this message. But they do not accept it personally in faith. Like Agrippa, they are only “almost” saved. What hinders them from making a complete decision?

o One obstacle is human intelligence. Those who want to explain and mentally comprehend everything are at a disadvantage when it comes to the gospel of God. Only faith can grasp this wonderful message.
o People’s opinions can also stand in the way when it comes to turning to God. A person might fear being laughed at or losing friends. For that, they sacrifice their eternal happiness.
o Sins can also be an obstacle to being saved. A person is unable to make the decision to break with their old life. Although someone might know very well that certain things are not good, they don’t want to give them up.
o Finally, a religious or decent life can prevent some from accepting the gospel. People who think too highly of themselves to repent are also unwilling to believe in the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Almost saved is completely lost. Are you perhaps one of those who is still hesitating? Why don’t you overcome the obstacles? Have the courage to set your life right before God by confessing your sins and believing in the Saviour. You won’t regret it.

Today’s reading: Genesis 18:16-33 · Jude vv. 17-25

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
