Again and again we meet people who think that...

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.

When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you give him no warning, … that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.

Romans 1:16; Ezekiel 3:18

Again and again we meet people who think that the gospel should be proclaimed in a more friendly, appealing and “positive” way. We shouldn’t always “threaten” so “negatively” with eternal judgment. What should we say to this?

Most certainly, the gospel is a loving invitation from God to mankind: it is the good news of salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If anyone is ready to confess his guilt before God, then God opens the way of salvation for him. “He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

God is holy and just – He must judge sin. Therefore, it was necessary for Him to give His own Son as a substitutionary sacrifice. Otherwise, all people would face eternal judgment! To escape this judgment, we must believe in the Son of God. Then we will receive eternal life.

The gospel is about the question of eternity. Therefore, it is not a message that conveys only joy and gladness in this life. God “commands all men everywhere to repent because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained” (Acts 17:31). We get true security and happiness only when we get right with God and the issue of eternity is settled. Therefore, everyone who is saved has the responsibility to warn his fellow men. Our Bible verses today also speak of this. But “warning” is not to be confused with “threatening”.

Today’s reading: Genesis 32:22-32 · Psalms 19:1-7

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
