Stand still!

But you stand here awhile, that I may announce to you the word of God.
1 Samuel 9:27

Stand still!
The alarm clock rings. Jeremy jumps out of bed, rushes into the shower, quickly drinks his coffee and then leaves the house. After 45 minutes in a crowded commuter train, he arrives at the office.

It starts with one meeting, followed immediately by a second. During the lunch break, he discusses upcoming business with his colleagues. Then he has appointments with his clients. After that he urgently needs to review some reports, while constantly being interrupted by phone calls.

When Jeremy gets home, it’s already 8 pm. He quickly eats dinner while reading the newspaper. After checking his e-mails, he turns on the TV. But he is too tired to concentrate on the programme so he goes to bed and soon falls asleep. In a few hours the alarm clock will ring again ...

Jeremy, it’s absolutely important that you stop running through life. If you continue like this and your heart doesn’t let you down first, you will suddenly grow old and will have missed the most important thing. Take time to stand still for once! Listen to God who wants to give you true life. The happiness and fulfilment you long for can only be found in Him.

Take the Bible and read the Gospel of John. There you will discover that God loves you and wants to give you eternal life in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Today’s reading: Daniel 1:9-21 · Psalms 37:21-29

FASTING IS NECESSARY

But they forget that...More

ATTENTIVE TO THE MASTER'S INSTRUCTIONS?

It is always good to pay close attention to instructions given by someone you claim to be your guide or guardian. Often, we miss many opportunities, breakthroughs and victories because we fail to see the details of the instructions given to us on a subject. A multinational company once held a promotional exam for...More
