Our energy problem

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1

Our energy problem
We need energy to heat our homes, to light our rooms and to get around by train or car. However, we have a double problem. On the one hand, energy sources such as oil and gas are limited. At some point they will run out. On the other hand, their consumption produces pollutants which cause problems for us.

We also have a spiritual “energy problem”. Without a relationship of faith with the living God, we lack the inner power to live as He desires. Without Him, there is no true light to illuminate our path in life, no genuine love to warm our hearts.

Man can indeed develop energy independently of God. But in the process, many “pollutants” arise, such as self-will, arrogance, violence and other sins. Because this pile of rubble burdens our life, we want to dispose of it. How is this possible?

If we sincerely confess our wrongdoings to God and believe that Jesus Christ bore the punishment for them on the cross, He removes the burden of our sins from us. He forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. At the same time, God gives us a new life that can develop in the power of the Holy Spirit for His glory. We now enjoy the warm rays of God’s love and receive light for life’s pathway through His Word.

Today’s reading: Job 14:1-22 · Acts 9:31-43

. He learned that God can only use subjection of Himself, weakness in self, and dependence upon Him only.
However, there was only one person, spiritually speaking, who was a true Nazarite, and that was our Lord Jesus. He shows us that it is not a negative thing to be separated from the world but rather a...More

Adam found an excuse:

Jeremiah 17:9

In a discussion on the above text with some young people, the question was asked: how are we to understand the word "deceitful" here? After some consideration they reached this conclusion: deceitful means that the heart finds an excuse for everything. This seems a very apt...More
