A few years ago, the police in India arrested...

I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.
Isaiah 43:25

A few years ago, the police in India arrested four women who had robbed a tourist. As punishment for their crime, the word “pickpocket” was tattooed on their foreheads.

What would happen if we were treated in the same way? Wouldn’t each of us have something written on our forehead? One would have “liar”, another “cheat”, and a third “tax evader”. Would a social life still be possible at all? And wouldn’t many marriages and families break up as a result?

During the time of the Lord Jesus, people once brought a woman to Him whom they caught committing adultery. What was His verdict on this? “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” He acknowledges that the woman is guilty and that punishment is necessary – but He denies the accusers the right to execute that punishment themselves. Only He, who is without sin, has the right to condemn the woman. But then He tells her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more”! (John 8:7, 11)

Each of us has been guilty of something, and we are quick to notice and condemn wrong in someone else – but only God can expose evil in a person’s heart. After all, He wants to forgive. His desire is that we confess our sins, repent of them and leave them behind. He then offers us the opportunity to believe in the sacrifice of His Son who died for those sins on the cross.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 6:11

Today’s reading: Job 18:1-21 · Acts 11:1-18

UNCOVERING EVIL

The presence of the supernatural power of God in a church can take that church beyond limits.
It can also uproot the presence of evil in the midst of Gods children. In Acts 5, a couple were uprooted through this. If we are going to sanitise the church, we need the Holy Spirit. Just as we need Him to heal, save...More

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; ...More

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the ages of time, but has manifested in its own due season His word.
(Titus 1:2-3)

THE NON-LYING GOD (2)
I can lie. Titus could too, and so could the Cretans. But God can not lie. I can deceive. But...More
