Christian later-years
o I am getting older, Lord. Help me to remain humble. Keep me from having an unyielding opinion based on my own experiences. Grant me wisdom in discerning people and situations.
o I am getting older, Lord. I don’t want to become a sad and pessimistic person who is only preoccupied with the past. Help me to be patient, gentle and understanding.
o I am getting older, Lord. Don’t let my Bible reading become a joyless fulfilment of duty. Rather, keep Your Word as a refreshing source for me to drink from every day.
o I am getting older, Lord. It is my desire to better live out Your Word. Give me the courage to bear witness to You and Your grace in a directionless society that has no hope or stability. Help me to imitate Your example of genuine and selfless love.
o I am getting older, Lord. Make me more sensitive to the needs of those around me, my family, my neighbours and all who are lonely or in need.
o I am getting older, Lord. I want to expect You, not death, to free me from all problems. What joy it will be to see You soon and to be with You forever!
