Greater

You will see greater things than these.
John 1:50

Greater
In the Bible we find statements that make it clear to us how much greater our God is than the dangers, problems and worries on the path of faith.

o “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand” (John 10:29). Through faith in the Lord Jesus, we possess eternal salvation. No enemy can rob us of this security. In the hand of our God and Father we are secure for time and eternity.
o “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15:13). The Lord Jesus laid down His life for us on the cross. His love for us is so great and incomprehensible! Let us hold fast to this truth, even in difficult life situations.
o Moses esteemed “the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward” (Hebrews 11:26). What Jesus Christ gives us when we believe in Him and confess Him is much more than the world can offer us. He gives us a spiritual joy that far surpasses any worldly pleasure.
o “But He gives more (or greater) grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6). The grace that God provides us is greater than all our problems. Genuine humility in our hearts opens the way to His boundless goodness.

HAZARDING LIVES FOR MISSIONS

Within the space of a few years after the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the gospel about Him had reached Rome, Alexandria, Antioch and all the great cities in Europe, Africa and Asia. The gospel had made great inroads into the aristocracy and among intellectuals, and had already changed the lives...More
