God’s eyes

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.
Psalm 34:15

God’s eyes
God sees all people, but He pays special attention to His own. Therefore, it is a privilege for every believer to consciously live life under the eyes of God! Each one then experiences how God guides, helps and protects.

Guidance: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8). God instructs us through His Word. However, in order for Him to guide us with His eyes in each situation, it is necessary that we seek “eye contact” with Him.
Help: “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). God sees all those who want to live for Him with all their heart. To these He provides His support. Most of the time He doesn’t intervene in a spectacular way but He displays His power in the weakness of believers.
Protection: In the time of Ezra, when some set out to build the house of God, they experienced opposition from their enemies. They were discouraged until the Lord spoke to them through the prophets. Then they resumed their work. We then read: “But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, so that they could not make them cease” (Ezra 5:5). Similarly, today the Lord wants to protect all those who work for His spiritual house – the assembly.

Today’s reading: Zechariah 4:1-14 · Mark 12:35-44

HOW PERSUADED?

In 2 Timothy 4:10, Demas - a co-labourer with Paul was floored by his love for the world. He became a victim of comfort. Today, many people are also becoming prayerless and shifting their or trust from God to uncertain riches. They are now tending towards the belief that money can fix everything. If you are in such...More

A LESSON FROM GOLIATH

At the first sight of David, Goliath despised him. He was amazed that the children of Israel could find no other man to fight him than a young boy. As if that was not enough, Goliath did not see any conventional weapon of war on David. So he asked, "Am I a dog?" The first lesson we have to learn from this story as...More

Always Be Humble

Who am Ithat you have brought me this far?' 2 Samuel 7:18 (NIV 2011 Edition)
A MEMBER of parliament took his little daughter to visit Westminster Abbey. As she stood looking up at its magnificent columns, her father asked, What do you think, sweetheart?' With childlike candour she replied, I was...More

Forgive And Move On (2)

Anyone who starts ploughing and keeps looking back isn't worth a thing to God's Kingdom!' Luke 9:62 CEV

If you're wise, you'll do four things:

(1) Focus on the road ahead. By looking in the rear-view mirror instead of what's up ahead, you'll end up in a ditch. Focus on the fact you've...More
