Occupied – Completo – Ocupado

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7

Occupied – Completo – Ocupado
A few years ago we took two train trips through many countries in Europe. In a total of more than seven weeks we got to know a lot of new cities. After each arrival, the search for a room began. Exhausted from the train ride and loaded with heavy backpacks, we wandered through unknown streets, meeting a lot of unfamiliar people.

In one place we repeatedly encountered the sign: “Occupied – Completo – Ocupado”. It was the same word in different languages, but always with the same message: There is no room here. The rooms were occupied by people who had arrived in the city earlier than us. Then we went to the next pension, and to the next hotel. Our legs became heavier and heavier, and again and again there was the sign indicating: No room.

Since this experience, I can better empathise with Joseph and Mary and their situation in Bethlehem. “No room … in the inn,” they were told. The Messiah was to be born, who after all was the Creator of heaven and earth, but there was no room for Him – the inn was occupied.

Doesn’t this inn also resemble some people’s hearts? Many hearts are occupied – completely filled with the pursuit of wealth and influence, with the activities of life or with pleasures. There is no more room for the Son of God.

Jesus Christ says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

Open the door of your heart to Him!

My times are in Your hand'Psalms 31:15 NKJV

The Psalm writes, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand' (vv. 14-15 NKJV). As you walk with God you'll find that you spend more time waiting than you do receiving. And when you receive what you're waiting for, then...More

A Statement Of Purpose To Live By

Always give yourselves fully.' 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Next time you pass a McDonald's, think about this statement from the one of the founders: Ray Kroc. Press on! Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent....More
