Help for sinners

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds.
Luke 10:33–34

Help for sinners
The story of the Good Samaritan shows how Jesus Christ desires to help people whose lives are ruined by injustice and self-will. The Samaritan encountered the robbed man on his journey, wounded and half-dead by the roadside. – The Son of God became man about 2,000 years ago and came to us. He made this “journey” from heaven to earth to help us. After His death and resurrection, the Lord Jesus Christ returned to heaven. He now enters into the lives of individuals through the gospel.

When the Samaritan saw the wounded man, he was moved with compassion. – Likewise, the Lord Jesus takes a caring interest in our misery. It touches His heart when He sees us suffering under the consequences of our sinful lives. Perhaps others pass by heedlessly. They have no time and no compassion for us. Not so the Saviour. It deeply moves Him when we sigh under the burden of our guilt and have no hope left.

The Samaritan cared for the injured man and bound up his wounds. – The Lord Jesus also wants to do good to us. He grants forgiveness of sins and inner peace to everyone who believes in Him and seeks His help. He Himself established the conditions for this when He gave His life on the cross for sinners.

Jesus says to her, Mary. She, turning around, says to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni, which means Teacher. Jesus says to her, Touch Me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.

PROVOKING POSITIVE CHANGE

Change is one event that is constant in life. Change denotes movement from one state to another. There are two categories of change: positive and negative. Due to the fact that change can either be positive or negative, Africans would say: "Change is good for the poor but bad for the rich". Change in life is...More
