Revelation and worship

I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
Psalm 22:22

Revelation and worship
What the Lord Jesus predicts in today’s Bible verse was fulfilled after His death and resurrection.

“I will declare Your name to My brethren.” This happened when He told the disciples: “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” (John 20:17). The disciples formed the initial core of believers in the age of grace. Therefore, this communication also concerns us. Jesus Christ has revealed to us the name of the Father and the name of God to bring us into a relationship with Him. His Father, who demonstrated His wonderful love in the gift of the Son, is now our Father. His God, who showed His absolute holiness in judging sin, is now our God.

“In the midst of the assembly, I will praise You.” The Lord Jesus does this every time we gather for breaking bread. He directs our thoughts to Himself and His work on the cross so that, as a sanctified company of people, we can praise and worship our God and Father together. In the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus, we recognise and admire the love of the Father, who gave His Son for us. When we think of the three hours of darkness, we stand reverently before the holiness of God that condemned sin in the person of Christ.

Our worship that we bring to God the Father is the response to His revelation in His Son on the cross.

Today’s reading: Exodus 29:31-46 · Luke 12:22-34

The only true attitude for the Christian is that of dependence...

I am come from heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him that has sent Me.
(John 6:38)

The only true attitude for the Christian is that of dependence. The moment we get off the ground of dependence on God we are sure to come to grief. This is true both individually...More

Are You Feeling Insecure? (3)

The Lordsaid to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth." '
Jeremiah 1:9 NIV

The people God calls usually start out feeling ill-equipped and insecure. Indeed, if you jumped and said, No problem, Lord, I can handle that,' He wouldn't call you at all. You say, but I've made so many...More

CO-PILOT USED SKY DEVIL' LOG IN
