Unbelievers plan their lives without seeking...

But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment.
Ecclesiastes 11:9

Unbelievers plan their lives without seeking God’s will. They live as they please, without considering the claims of their Creator. Even if their actions seem good and noble, they are like a dirty garment before God (Isaiah 64:5).

Three times God repeats His judgment on the whole of mankind in the Bible: “They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who dies good, no, not one” (Psalm 14:3; 53:3; Romans 3:12). The judgment of God that awaits people is like a chain with three links:

1. “For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Because they have sinned against God, they must die one day.

2. “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment …” (Hebrews 9:27). After death, they will appear before the divine judge and must give an account of their lives.

3. “And anyone not found written in the Book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15). God will condemn all those who die unreconciled with Him to eternal punishment in hell.
But God does not want people to be lost. Therefore, He has given them His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as Saviour. He died on the cross so that everyone who believes in Him and His atoning sacrifice will be saved from divine judgment.

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 37:1-21 · Romans 8:18-25

NEGATIVE LIVING

Life comprises of positive and negative elements. As a matter of necessity, it is not good for someone to opt for negative living. The fact that Jesus Christ was destined to die for the sin of the whole world does not exonerate Judas Iscariot from the evil that led him to the idea of betraying the King of Glory....More
