Going joyfully to the house of God
In Old Testament times, people from Israel travelled to Jerusalem to go to the temple of God there. It was a visible house in a specific location.

Today, the spiritual house of God is represented wherever believers in the Lord Jesus are gathered in His name. The building itself doesn’t matter. Whether it’s large or small, comfortable or simple, doesn’t matter. The number of Christians present isn’t an issue either. Instead, the question is whether we are happy to attend the gatherings of believers on Sunday.

What importance do the Christian meetings have for us? Is it just routine? Good habits are not bad – even the Lord Jesus went to where the Word of God was read, according to His custom. But if we only attend gatherings out of tradition, something is wrong with us.

We should motivate each other to gladly go where the Lord Jesus is in the midst of believers. It should be a deep joy for us every time we enjoy His presence with others. Every gathering is a unique opportunity to personally experience the Lord. He is there to focus our thoughts on Himself and to fill our hearts with His glory. At the same time, we rejoice to see our fellow believers and have fellowship with them.
