Security in turbulent times

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10

Security in turbulent times
Our global and digital world is evolving rapidly. This can make us fearful and uncertain. However, in our God we find a firm and secure anchor.

1. We know: God doesn’t change! He remains forever the same. His love for us is consistently strong and deep. His grace is available to us in full measure every day. He declares of Himself, “For I am the LORD, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). Moreover, He promises, “I, the LORD, am the first, and with the last, I am he” (Isaiah 41:4).

2. We know: God’s Word remains true! Although the Bible is an ancient book, its content does not become obsolete. Even in the 21st century, we find help and guidance for all life’s questions in the Bible. Much may change, “but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8). Despite the scepticism and attacks from unbelievers, what we read in Psalm 119:89 remains entirely true: “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in the heaven.”

3. We know: God keeps His word! The Bible is filled with His precious promises. He assures us of His help (Isaiah 41:10), His presence (Isaiah 43:2), and His peace (Philippians 4:6–7). Soon, the Son of God will fulfil all His promises to us: “I will come again and receive you to Myself” (John 14:3).

Today’s reading: Leviticus 12:1-13:8 · Psalms 58:1-11
