The revelation of the Father

He who has seen Me has seen the Father.
John 14:9

The revelation of the Father
The Son of God became man to reveal the Father on earth through His person. When He spoke and acted, people could always recognise the truth about the Father in Him. Anyone with open eyes and ears saw in Him what the Father is in His essence.

In John 17:6, the Lord Jesus prayed to the Father: “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world.” It is clear from this that He had made the disciples, who believed in Him, acquainted with the Father. People in general saw in Jesus only a simple man from the despised town of Nazareth. For them, He was merely the son of a carpenter because they had no faith.

The disciples, on the other hand, who had opened their hearts to the Lord Jesus, could recognise in Him the Son of God who revealed the Father to them. Looking back, the Apostle John testified: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

The revelation of the Father occurred with the glorious intention of bringing believers into a relationship with Him. The Lord explained this to His own after His resurrection:

“I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” (John 20:17).

Today’s reading: Judges 18:1-31 · Psalms 74:13-23

JESUS IN YOUR BOAT

No doubt, life in a sense is like the sea. A characteristic of the sea is that storms of varying degrees arise, putting the lives of those sailing on it in jeopardy of being drowned. In Jesus' Name, the storms of life will not be able to drown you, your family and your business. While literal storms are natural...More
