The greatest miracle

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:31-32

The greatest miracle
Prayer brings about effects that often cannot be explained by common sense or the laws of nature. This is so because God, to whom the whole creation owes its being and conformity with natural laws, is not subject to the restrictions that he Himself has set.
Exceptions prove the rule is a common saying. God has therefore reserved for Himself the right to intervene in creation. Man cannot understand this with his limited insight, so long as he refuses to permit God to act in this way.
The greatest of all miracles is the new birth. Whoever has experienced this in his life will accept all other miracles. Those who are unregenerate, however, consider them impossible.
In cold countries, like Canada, it is natural for water to turn to ice, or for a river to flow under a thick layer of ice on which one can walk without any danger. But just try to convince the inhabitants of tropical countries, who have never seen ice, of the stability of such a bridge that the river itself has made. They will tell you that it contradicts common sense. Similarly we can understand the difference between those who are born again and aware of the Lord's wonderful works and those who live only for this world and know nothing of the spiritual life of a Christian.
Today's reading: Ezekiel ch.18

(Mark 4:11)

The Lord Jesus told His disciples that they would be given an understanding in "the mystery of the kingdom of God." He also spoke of another class of people to whom everything would be spoken in parables; these He described as, "them who are without." How solemn that God should...More

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
(Galatians 6:1-2)
