God’s offer applies to all...

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4

It is a fact that there are people who do not come to Jesus Christ because they think themselves to be too bad for heaven. They believe that God cannot forgive them, or that He considers them to be worthless. Both attitudes are false, God be praised!
However good or bad anyone is or considers himself, however much he may have ruined his life, God's offer applies to all. He does regard every single person as of value to Him and sincerely wishes to win his or her heart. There is hope for all! We often have a different way of thinking: when anyone has offended us, for example, we give him up and do not want to see him again.
Jesus Christ says, however, "Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). On another occasion He said, "The one who comes to me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37).
It is possible that some are afraid of living a Christian life and think, "I just can't do it. God's expectations are much more that I can meet." Indeed none could do so in his own strength. But the wonderful thing is that God doesn't expect us to. He knows full well that we cannot do it. True Christian living is possible only in the strength of the Holy Spirit given by God to every believer. All is of God. He offers us His love in Jesus Christ and grants us the strength to live as Christians. It is up to us to accept His offer.
Today's reading: 1 Timothy 6

CONDESCEND!

After seeing their plight, hearing their cries and feeling their pains, God came down to rescue the Israelites from Egypt. Our God is a mobile God. He comes down to deliver His own. As high as God is and even though He has His throne in Heaven, yet He condescends to meet the needs of His children on earth (Isaiah...More

DIVINE CHAMPION 2

Yesterday we discovered that our Lord Jesus Christ is the number one champion and that He makes His people champions. We also saw that a divine champion is a person raised up and supported by God.

One attribute of a champion is strength. The divine champion is one who receives divine strengthening....More

EX-CHAMPION?

Although it is an unpleasant experience to be a defeated contender, becoming an ex-champion is a much more grievous experience. When you are not yet a champion, only a few people pay attention to you. But by the time you become a champion, you will be on the radar of many people, including your enemies. A champion has...More
